All carbon footprints are by their nature an estimate. Some are more accurate than others. We have designed our service to use the latest emissions factors, derived from reputable, New Zealand based, sources.
Our tool is designed to generate the most accurate Scope 1 + 2 estimates possible by connecting to data sources such as your electricity meter, fuel cards, and taking you through a simple data capture process for other sources. Scope 3 data is sourced from your accounting tool, and can be refined later. We therefore offer a hybrid approach, which balances the competing needs of accuracy and convenience.
Our tool has been audited for alignment to the ISO14064-1 and GHG Protocol standards by McHugh and Shaw of Christchurch, New Zealand. Our audit results are available on request.
